Dr Langman can offer supervision and consultancy services for mental health and social care professionals in Plymouth and surrounding areas.  We can also offer remote online workshops via Microsoft Teams or Zoom.  Dr Langman is a Registered Applied Psychology Practice Supervisor with the British Psychological Society.

She offers support for professionals working in a range of common approaches including Psychotherapy and Counselling (humanistic and cognitive) and Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and in a number of different contexts including: general counselling / adult mental health; LGBT; couples / relationship counselling; trauma; children / young persons; addiction; and sexual health.

One-to-one supervision

This type of supervision is best suited to professionals wishing to support and develop their practice, or who are working towards accreditation with a relevant professional body. One-to-one supervision allows time to explore individual clinical issues and challenges in depth and to develop effective approaches to these.

Group supervision

Group supervision is suitable for professionals wishing to develop their practice in a particular area. Reflective group supervision enables experiences to be shared in a supportive and encouraging way, facilitated by a highly experienced psychologist. Group supervision can also be used to build understanding, improve skills and gain expert input within teams.

Consultancy

Our consultancy service is helpful for focusing on specific issues linked to professional practice in the area of mental health, such as development of specific therapeutic techniques, psychometric measures, report writing, etc.

CPD and training

Our CPD and training services are available to groups or organisations wishing to develop expertise in particular areas. We also run regular CPD events focusing on contemporary issues in the area of mental health and therapy.

Our supervision and consultancy services are available in Plymouth city centre as well as at other locations throughout Devon. We can also ‘meet’ you for sessions by phone or online.

For further details and cost of these sessions, please contact us directly.

“Group reflective practice supervision with Louise helps us to support ourselves and our clinical practice, improve the quality of our work with patients and increase individual and collective learning within the team.  We will often discuss a 'stuck case', or just 'de-muddle ourselves' and have a chance to release the pressure. ”  Specialist nurse, Livewell Southwest.
